Titled: I Got Mojo
Completed in 2022
Measures roughly 11″ x 14″
Acrylic and spray paint and decoupage on gallery stretched linen
Elements include: Unicorn, dove, shark, nautilus, crayfish, anatomical heart, flower, sugar skull, Angel wings, honeycomb pattern
Words include: Love, faith, mojo, light warrior
(The linen on one corner is a bit wonky. I like this. You might not. It will not change, it is permanently this way.)
This is one of my favorite pieces. Complex and layered, it was something I worked on for a couple of months. TONS of organic marking, layers of pattern and texture, many symbols. In addition to the listed elements, there are a few bits of decoupage and there are hearts and stars and splats and even a few bits where I drew with a paint pen. There is no specific story here other than this whole wild web of life is miraculous and we are lucky to be here with our weird beating hearts taking it all in. It takes mojo to survive in this difficult age. And you have to remember to look for the magic. Always.
