Death’s Head Hawkmoths make me happy. This fellow appears to be taking a stand of some kind. I think this is a rebel flag. Maybe his people are tired of being mistaken for butterflies? I am not certain. He never explained. But I think this piece is bold. It came as a surprise to me. Sometimes paintings just show up for me with no backstory. I take whatever I can get and I say thank you. This one pleases me. I hope it brings you a whiff of independence and mystery.
